Our institute

Scandinavian Green Roof Institute (SGRI) was formed by the Scandinavian Green Infrastructure Association (SGIA) at the beginning of 2000 to manage the development of Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden in Malmö. The institutes main activities are accommodating technical visits, seminars and courses, facilitate research and provide consultation and network support to members of SGIA.

Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden

The Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden is a place for inspiration, education and research. The garden consist of 9500 m² vegetated roofs of various types and is accessible for visitors all year round. The Scandinavian Green Roof Institute offers guided tours, and for groups who crave more in-depth information; Technical-Visits and courses at Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden. Every year the garden is visited by between 130 - 150 booked groups. 

The Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden was created in 1999 with support from the EU-LIFE fund, the Swedish Ministry of the Environment and the City of Malmö.
